Subordinate

So the book says "a dominant or primary, form is often balanced by one or more subordinate, or secondary, forms". It was really hard for me to not think about work place hierarchies or animal dominancy but I suppose in art work everything has to be subordinate to something unless there is just one thing or image in the piece. In this image, the city of Melbourne background is subordinate to the umbrella piece because it is in the back, yet it helps create the atmosphere of the image, which is whimsical and bright.
